Cars in the new millennium have been a fine balance between nostalgic history and forward-looking technology. Companies like Toyota and Honda have turned years of electric/gasoline hybrid R&D into extremely popular and fuel-efficient automobiles. Technology has also made high-performance all-wheel-drive turbocharged cars like the Audi TT, Subaru WRX and the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO a hit in America. Meanwhile, domestics are revisiting their roots with classic design cues in cars like the Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger.
